Description
The Pyramid of Cestius is an ancient pyramid in Rome, Italy, near the Porta San Paolo. Was built during the reign of the emperor Augustus, probably between 18 and 12 BCE. It is a remarkable monument, made of white Carrara marble and exactly 100 Roman feet (30 meters) high. Due to its incorporation into the city's fortifications, it is today one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in Rome.
